2023 Festival Volunteer Awards

At the August Appreciation Reception given by Robert Nelson and Van Ramsey the Festival gave two volunteer Awards. Glenda Hoffman was Usher of the Year. Matt Gregory was Unsung Hero. Matt Gregory is a teacher at Schenevus Central School and has been a Guild Member for a number of years. The Guild would like to congratulate them both and thank them for their service to the Festival.

Welcome Booth at the Festival - New in 2023

The Welcome Booth will be 'staffed' by 2-3 Guild members for about an hour before each performance.  We will be present at the booth to greet Festival patrons, to direct newcomers to the various services on the grounds, to answer questions, and to disperse information about upcoming events and activities.  We will have printed information from the Festival and the Guild and from the Chamber of Commerce to offer.

If you would like to be involved at the booth below is the link to a Google Spreadsheet for you to sign up.  When you open the link, you will be able to see where there are open slots. Simply type in your name in the slot when you are available.  ALSO, please provide your name, email address, and phone number in the columns to the right of the calendar.  Our contact information will be useful if your plans change and you need to find a substitute for a slot that you have signed up for.  Barbara LaCorte will be monitoring the signups and may be sending emails occasionally if there are dates and slots that remain open as the season progresses.

Please keep this link handy, so you can check back if you forget when you might have signed up or if you want to sign up for more empty slots in the future.  Barbara LaCorte is overseeing this new volunteer opportunity. You can contact her by email Barbara LaCorte

“I’ve ushered at Glimmerglass ever since I retired in 2010 as a library media specialist at Cherry Valley-Springfield Central School.  I became good friends of ushers who were part of the Guild.  They encouraged me to become a member so I joined because of their friendships and I wanted to see these friends even after the season.”
